Published on: August 12, 2026

Supporting a strong and vibrant Cape Cod

The Cape Cod Commission, on behalf of Barnstable County and the Barnstable County Economic Development Council, is seeking proposals from local or regional governmental or nonprofit agencies for projects that support the area’s economic resiliency and advance the goals and actions of the 2024 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).

Approximately $125,000 has been allocated for the grants. Grants are intended to provide quick, flexible funding to boost or expand an economic development related initiative. Projects should be completed within one year from the date of the grant contract. The maximum award is $25,000. Match funding is not required but is strongly encouraged.

Submitted proposals should advance at least one of the ten key actions of the CEDS:

  • Incentivize year-round housing
  • Simplify appropriate housing development
  • Provide opportunities for organizations and entrepreneurs to pilot ideas
  • Support year-round community action and civic engagement
  • Develop and connect students and workforce to educational training opportunities
  • Identify and support growing industries in the region
  • Invest in water quality and wastewater infrastructure, invest in broadband infrastructure
  • Advocate for the replacement of the Canal bridges
  • Advance climate change resiliency

Municipally supported projects that advance year-round housing opportunities, climate resiliency, and water quality initiatives are preferred.
